You probably remember Halee from an earlier blog. We agreed that we would take more pictures this fall and I am so glad we did. I love the way they all turned out.

We went to the abandoned homestead where Halee’s mom grew up. We couldn’t drive up to it so we had a little bit of a hike through a pasture but it was well worth it!

It helps that she is such a pretty girl but I loved all the spots we found!

It was so fun to do something new and different. And I had such a great time too. Halee and her mom are hilarious.

Isn’t this building cool? Halee had all kinds of new and different spots in mind and the best part about them is they were all in Lodgepole where I grew up so it felt comfortable.

Such cool shoes!!

We took these inside an abandoned building and it was dark because I didn’t take into consideration the time change. Oops! I think they turned out really cool, even though I wasn’t even sure where Halee was when I was aiming my camera until I looked at them on my viewfinder.

The darkness just might add to the mood of these pictures… I know they thought I was crazy when I said we could still take pictures in the pitch black. Having senior pictures in the dark is definitely original.

Thank you Halee for another great session. I love your pictures!!

Delaney and Jace were back for pictures this year!

Here they are in their Husker gear…

They were a lot of fun…it has been a challenge the past few years to get smiles out of Delaney but once we do we’re good to go for the rest of the session.

By now Delaney was in the groove…

And this is my favorite…Jace was done with pictures…can you tell? I love it!

Thank you Kevin and LaDonna for bringing your kiddos back this year!

This is Teah. She is almost 2 and so sweet. She loved my light so everytime it flashed she smiled…how perfect!

And here she is with her Mommy and Daddy, who both happen to be elementary teachers. Coming from a family of teachers and working in the school system as a therapist myself, I have so much respect for teachers, especially those that teach Kindergarten!

This is my favorite…how sweet is this?

I think she was just getting ready to take off but I love the smile on her face!

We got outside for a few since it was so nice that weekend. Yes these are from 2 weeks ago! I am embarrassed that it has taken me so long to get things edited for everyone.

I also love this shot!

Thank you Rick and Erin for bringing Teah down for her photo shoot! It was really nice to meet you and I hope to see you again soon.

These boys were full of laughs and facial expressions! This first picture of their family is my favorite of the session…

I couldn’t believe what a nice day it was for November…almost hot!

If the wind would have just been a little calmer…but it worked out. We eventually found a spot that worked. If only we would have started with this spot…

And another of just the boys…

Thank you Kenan and Lisa for bringing your family for pictures!

I took Ryhder’s newborn pictures and he is already 6 months old and SOOOO cute!

He looks like he’d just like to run off…

Rhyder’s mommy thought this bandana would make a great picture and she was right, except Rhyder wasn’t too sure about it at first. I absolutely love this shot…

I am sharing a lot of pictures once again…mostly because I can’t make a decision about which ones to share.

Rhyder totally went after the goldfish. He wasn’t a bit afraid of it and I’m surprised he didn’t actually catch it.

We found just a little bit of fall color left…

This one is my favorite of the session. I just love the look on his face!

I wanted to share one with his Mommy.

And the cowboy hat storyboard…

Thanks Kodi for bringing you little man back for pictures and I am already looking forward to the next time!

I have been lucky lately because this was another really great session. Samantha brought her family clear from Evans, CO just for pictures a few weeks ago. She is a friend of my husband’s. They graduated together and I have recently had the pleasure of getting to know her a little more. I really enjoy her! And what a nice looking family they are…

This is Bryce and Madison and I really enjoyed them too. What fun kids!!

And not to leave Chris out. I admire the relationship he and Samantha have. They always seem so loving to one another.

Madison has spunk and you can tell that in this shot…

Bryce and Madison didn’t even know I was taking this one…the best kind in my opinion!!

I love this storyboard but I especially love the way that Madison is looking at Bryce in the last picture.

Thank you Chris and Samantha for driving all the way back here to have pictures taken. I am so thrilled with the way they turned out!

And while we are on my little brother, we took pictures for their Save the Date cards last weekend as well. It was Michelle’s idea to have them look like a photo booth and I think they are adorable! Hope you like them guys! And don’t faint…I really did do them this week like I said I would.

Usually my family projects get put aside until I am caught up with other stuff but I am beginning to think that is never going to happen so I was able to sneek this project in. Now I will get back to ordering, editing, bookkeeping, and packaging for my clients!

We traveled to Lincoln last weekend for my cousin Bridget’s wedding reception and we also got to go to the Husker game. My little brother is in his last year of school at the University where he will graduate with a degree in Athletic Training. So the most exciting part of the game for me was seeing him work. I got to try out my new zoom lens since our seats are quite near the top. My dad has been anxious to see some of these so I thought I’d post a few here.

One of the jobs of the student athletic trainers is to make sure everyone gets water. Jeff’s job was to keep the officials hydrated. He had his back to us every time he went out but that is him in the red coat by the official.

I got down to the sidelines to take a few too…

It was SO cold at the game but as my cousin Tara said, it did add to the atmosphere and the experience.

At one point I was standing on the sideline taking pictures and someone asked me if I was doing some freelance work. I said no, that I was taking pictures of my little brother. I’m sure they assumed he was a player but I told them that he is a trainer and that I was just as proud of him as parents are of their players. It means a lot to my mom and dad to see Jeff doing what he loves. He is absolutely living his dream and is a role model for my children. Someday they will understand that what he is doing now is the only thing he ever wanted to do and he is working hard to make that dream a reality.

It was so fun to see you doing what you love Jeff!

Piper is a cutie but she was only happy if we were shooting her picture from over her Mommy’s shoulder…we got a few and I really like the way her storyboard turned out!

Thanks Micaiah for bring her up so early in the morning!

The photography Gods must have been looking down on my during this session…or they feel sorry for me because I have taken on so much and am struggling to get everything done. Whatever their reason, I am grateful. This was an awesome session. The lighting was great, the color was great and the subject was great!!
We started with some maternity pictures of Cora and her soon-to-be little brother.

This is going to be a huge post because I could not decide which ones to share…what a great problem to have…

Here is the maternity storyboard…

And then everything was about Cora…

What a beautiful little girl…

I love the mood of this shot…

Cora brought her dance outfit too which was so fun. This is her favorite bear and she wanted a picture with him…how sweet!

So pretty…

Cora is a kick in the pants and she was more than happy to try out every pose she could think of…this is a fun shot…

And finally the storyboard of Cora in her awesome hat she brought along. I need to get some of those for my studio…

Thank you so much Deanna and Ed for bringing Cora back and I can’t wait to meet your new little guy!!

Here are a few more mini-session pictures…if you haven’t gotten an email with your choices, you will have them Sunday or Monday. We are leaving in about 10 minutes for Lincoln for the weekend for a family wedding reception so I’m afraid I won’t get to them until we get home Sunday night. I apologize. I am doing the best I can…but I am sorry for being slow.
I love this family and I really like their attire, because I was an Eagle once too! Go Chadron State!

Thanks again!

Here are more from my mini-session day…

I would have loved to have more time with this family…especially their little guy…what a cutie!!

I had a little bit of time left with a few sessions so we slipped outside for a few since it was so incredibly nice!

I have taken these girls’ pictures a few times before. They are such beautiful girls…

I am still working on mini-sessions and I hope to have them done by Friday because we are going out of town for the weekend. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
